I'm truly enjoying this series and I'm excited to keep reading more from Rachel Lacey. I did prefer the first book to the second, however I couldn't stop reading this book either.

If you're into Schitt's Creek and Christmas, this book is for you! This was a fun holiday lgbtq romance read, and I'm honored to have been given the opportunity to read it from NetGalley. There's a little bit of spice, some great banter, and some great character growth.

As a person who is medicated for generalized anxiety disorder, there were times when this book was mentally and emotionally exhausting to read... But somehow in a good way? It made me sort of confront some of the not so peachy things about me as a person. Also, I couldn't decide if I love Paris or want to punch him which I'm pretty sure is exactly the point. There was so much nerdery and ridiculousness and I found myself literally laughing out loud much more than I anticipated.

This is sometimes tagged as a romance novel, but this book is not that. It is, however, a beautifully raw and heart-wrenching story of two people who have a deep connection that spans the course of their lives. They float in and out of each other's lives, and this story shows how they ultimately change with and without each other.

This book felt like the entire plot idea was "how many tropes can we fit into one single book". I never connected with the characters and everytime something arose that I thought would cause some tension it just was immediately resolved. There was not enough passion or development.

FYI to those that follow my reviews: I do almost always read romance novels, but this one is women's fiction.

It took me quite a while to get into this book. The writing style is a bit different and I needed to adapt in my brain, but once I started to connect with our FMC, I really appreciated this book for exactly what it is. Even though this book is full of chaos and things I've never had to deal with, I understood SO MUCH that this FMC was dealing with. Being a working mother is the hardest thing I've ever done, and this writer GETS IT.

I feel as if I appreciated what this book was trying to do, but it just fell a little flat for me. There was enough to keep me reading the whole book, but not enough to keep me turning pages late into the night. I think I mostly had an issue with our hero and how blindly he was sticking with Victoria. I just couldn't believe it, and was getting annoyed with it. However, that premise may be someone else's jam!

I read this not remembering that Ruby Barrett was the author of The Romance Recipe and it took me like more than half the book to realize that there's character overlap from that book. This book makes me want to re-read The Romance Recipe because I loved that one so much. This one isn't quite as strong as Romance Recipe, however it finished very well and I definitely cried a little.

Cute enough and steamy enough that I'll read the rest in the series.

This book got better as it went along. At first I was annoyed by the characters, but that was also kind of the point. LOL. As the book moves along you find more of the characters' humanities and why they are the way they are. I never fell truly in love with them, but it was still a delightful book to read!
