This was just fine to me, I found it fell into the miscommunication trap too many times, not just between the main couple, but also between the main character and her friends, her family and also in the subplots between the friends, so  the first three quarters dragged quite a bit.

However, I really loved reading about the relationship between Harriet and her parents... I felt very seen, and I thought her whole emotional journey was really great. The lasy quarter also was good, but the road to it was loooong.

I wanted to read more from Sri Lankan authors AND read more books outside my comfort zone, so I picked this up knowing it was heavy on the introspection (is that a word?). The 2/3 of this book flew by, and I absolutely loved it. The secondary characters were so great I didn't even think of how it's all in the main character's head. However, in the last third, the main character is by themselves and the pace slowed down too much for me, and I sadly lost interest.

I gathered from the previous three books that the burn would be slow, but my god... I think the previous was more sizzling, this has more of a middle-book syndrome to it. I still enjoyed Persephone's character development!
