I might have rated this 5 stars. I really enjoyed this story. The writing was good, and the touch of magical realism was so well done. The footnotes were excessive and some were unnecessary. I also wasn't a fan of Robin as a main character. He goes from flat to leading a revolution with very little and quick development. This book is over 500 pages, that aspect could have been done better.
