Difficult Women: A History of Feminism in 11 Fights by Helen Lewis

The first half was extremely interesting and well put together, providing a complete yet easily understandable picture of the history of feminism and feminist issues around the victorian and suffragette era. I found those chapters both informative and insightful without being boring. However, about halfway through, when the themes started to approach more recent times and issues there was definitely an undercurrent of TERFy energy I didn't particularly enjoy. A lot of the most recent issues were talked about in a way that seemed to be defending "problematic" women without necessarilly fully going into why their behavior was problematic. Especially when she talked about that lady that works with "men's rights" activists in a sympathetic light I was confused. Overall, it was an interesting read (especially the historical chapters) but keep in mind the author has some views which should be considered critically.

Vaguely entertaining to have in the backround while doing other things as an audiobook, but the plot is confusing, kinda nonsensical tbh and MY GOD the racism, sexism and blatant misogyny was painful to get through. Serious yikes. Enjoyed the poirot novels better. Also the ending was blagh
