Pillow Thoughts by Courtney Peppernell

I want the time I spent reading this back. There were two or three lines that were good, but the rest was so cliche. Some poems rhymed for no reason, and the formatting of the poetry was so random and didn't feel purposeful.

This was such an entertaining adventure from beginning to end. The Adventures of Amina a-Sirafi is a swash-buckling historical fantasy. I loved the themes of found family, dark magic, and demon husbands! This was less serious than the Daevabad trilogy, but I didn't mind because it was so much fun. The worldbuilding was phenomenal, and the character dynamics were a blast.

This was my first Megan E. O'Keefe book, and it will not be my last. I wasn't sure what to expect going in, so I was in for a pleasant surprise. We follow a few characters, but the main character, Sanda, is so fascinating. We also have more POVs and a snarky AI ship. The author kept me surprised at the plot twists and kept me guessing as to where the story was headed. There was one POV that I didn't care about, especially because I didn't fully understand why she was included in this book, but I feel as though that will be touched upon more in book 2. This book was more light-hearted than I anticipated, but I really enjoyed that. The book was well paced, and I enjoyed the balance of political intrigue and action. It kept me motivated to keep reading. If you want a pacey, engaging space opera, I highly recommend this one!

This was such a lovely story, and I am in awe of Fonda Lee's ability to craft a story without wasting words. Ester was an endearing protagonist, and I loved following her journey, especially her relationship with her roc, Zahra. The worldbuilding was fabulous, and I was hooked from beginning to end.

Thank you Tor and NetGalley for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

This hit the ground running and kept me hooked until the last page! The complex characters, political intrigue, and fantastic world building were impeccable. I loved the angst between characters and the explosive ending. I cannot wait for book 3!

Thank you to Orbit for providing a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Man and Wife by Wilkie Collins was a RIDE! I was hooked from page one and could not put this down. This is one of the best sensation novels I have read!

The ending is going to live rent free in my mind.
Wired Love: A Romance of Dots and Dashes by Ella Cheever Thayer

This is an easy breezy romance that is centered around the telegraph. I loved the friendship between Nattie and Cyn, and I loved the conversations "over the wire." However, there was A LOT of miscommunication, and it was frustrating. Overall I enjoyed this one, but I don't know if I would ever reread it.
