Another great read from this author. I loved all of the creepy vibes, the mystery, relationships, and 90s nostalgia. A little slow at some points, but overall, I had a great time and consider Simone St. James as a favorite author.

This is for sure my favorite in the series so far. It was tense and gory. They had to problem solve and work things out, which makes sense. Nothing was easy, and I appreciate that in true dystopian books. I really cared about these characters and their struggles. I'm looking forward to finishing the series out and seeing how it all ends.

Now that's how I feel a novella should be done. I felt like everything was explained and resolved and the pacing was good. I really enjoyed the classic fae. It was a simple story, but it was told so well.

Sigh. I wanted to love this one. However, that didn't happen. The best part of the book was the last 50 pages. The writing kept me intrigued enough to keep reading, but Ophelia drove me crazy. The trials were a joke. If she didn't have help, she would have never made it through. It was predictable, and I never bought the romance either. So I didn't hate it, but I definitely didn't love it like so many others seem to. I'm just an outlier on this one, unfortunately.

I thought this was genuinely creepy. However, I have tons of unanswered questions that left me kind of confused. Really enjoyed the writing, and I look forward to more from this author.

This was a book and I read it.... part of me feels like saying that is harsh. However, I couldn't have cared less about any of these crappy people and their ridiculous secrets. I wouldn't say that it was badly written or anything it just didn't do anything for me.

I really enjoyed this, but I can see how this wouldn't be for everyone. It was a slow burn and took a while to really take off. The authors writing was just so good, tho in my opinion. I can see the progression from Dead Silence to this one. Even when it was slow, I was interested and engaged. This one definitely had themes I wasn't expecting at all from reading the title. I thought it was a really interesting take on survivor's guilt and not trusting your own genetics.

I really enjoyed this one. It was an interesting take on vampires and adding in the real world and all the commentary. I could really see how the author weaved it into the story. The mystery was pretty good and surprised me at the end.

I'm so glad I finally picked this one up. I absolutely loved the world. It was so interesting, and I loved learning more about it. The plot was tense, and I thought it was pretty well planned out. Now I can't wait for the next book.

Truly creepy concept. Just the thought of going to sleep thinking you're sleeping, but something all together different is happening. I flew through this book. The chapters were short and made me not want to stop. The ending was creepy but confusing, and that's the only reason I didn't give this one 5 stars.
