Surprisingly, this book has an entertaining second half, after a dull first.
Rand's battle against the Seanchan in Altara
was better than Dumai's Wells, in my opinion. All the main POVs of this book have setup each storyline for a very interesting future, something that hasn't happened in quite a while in this series.

This book had some of the greatest chapters I have ever read. Shame Jordan had no clue how to pace his stories. This book could have been truly special.

Finished this book in less than 24 hours. An amazing book, with susprising twists that I didn't predict and also excited for whatever is next after that cliffhanger. The one negative in this book and the whole sequel trilogy compared to the original, is that this is a fantasy trilogy...that barely has fantasy elements in it. Are the moments we do have fantasy elements enhanced because of this? Yes. Does that mean I am satisfied with the amount of fantasy elements? Absolutely not.
