This was really cute until the FMC was revealed to be a minor near the end. The author knew exactly what they were doing if they used that as a big reveal. 

This was too boring and I hated how controlling Matthew was. I don’t know what was in the water at the time, but I hated that romances in the mid-2000s and late 2010s romanticized toxic relationships so much. Thank Goodness millennial and Gen Z authors left that shit in the dust.
