Took me a while to get into because of the heavy subject matter.
I liked next of kin better than this one. I was not a fan of the endingđź«

I really enjoyed this book. I joined the user prettyxbookish's StoryGraph Around the world in books challenge and Ireland was on the list. This was my pick for the prompt and I am so glad I picked it up. The author crafted a beautiful and poetic prose of love, duty to country and time travel(which still confuses me).
Thomas was the father that stepped up and what a wonderful man he was. When he described his love for Anne on their wedding, i shed a thug tear... they were soulmates for real. Saskia Maarleveld and Will Damron both did an amazing job narrating this lyrical book.

A stunning collection of interconnected stories that showcases friendship, grief, heartbreak, family, career, and romance.
I liked that the author’s faith was evident in this book but not in a preachy way. It flowed seamlessly.
I can’t wait to discuss this with the bookclub in December. I just could not wait to finish it, seeing as it’s short story September.
This would make such a good limited series.

This book is literally perfect. The characters were so thoroughly fleshed out and I couldn’t get enough.
I had previously tried to read one of Kate Quinn’s books, the Alice network and I couldn’t finish it. I’m so glad I gave her another chance to dazzle me. Saskia Maarleveld was an amazing narrator as always.
If you enjoy historical fiction, you’ll enjoy this.
It explores the concept of found family so well

Yay representation in terms of black vampires written by an Ethiopian author.
The plot felt a bit convoluted after the 60ish % mark. It didn’t end it that much of a cliffhanger which I liked. I might pick up book 2 when it arrives to see where the story goes because it is an interesting. Loved the enemies part of the enemies to sometimes lovers.
