Better than American Royals in some ways, and worse in others. Really 3.5, but gave it the 4 because it was still enjoyable. It's light fun reading, feels barely outside if YA, and that's what I enjoyed about it.

I really really really wanted to like this book more than I did. It definitely wasn't a bad read at all, I just thought I could have gotten a little more from it. It was interesting and enjoyable, and it gave me the opportunity to see the world from a different perspective.
I found the main character, Queenie, to be frustrating, tiresome, and all-around annoying. I don't think you're supposed to like her. She isn't supposed to be there to please you, but rather share a more realistic life experience, what life is like for a Jamaican Black woman living in London. But still, it was exhausting to read from her perspective.
On the whole, the writing was good, the characters were well-rounded, and it was a good opportunity to see the world, mental health struggles, and a new perspective to me.
3.5/5 stars, gave it the half for Goodreads since it doesn't deserve a three.

It's 1 AM. I just finished. I read the last quarter of the book at LIGHT SPEED. I'm usually pretty good at catching the twists, but this one came out of nowhere and hit me like a freight train. SUCH a good read! Absolutely would recommend. Probably the best book I've read all year!

Absolutely loved it. A great take on women in politics and still leaving it to have the fun of a nonfiction story. Check out www.MoiraTheExplorer.com for a more full review!

This book primarily covers the lives of four women and gives the reader a great view into the lives of each. I truly enjoyed the story and the views from so many perspectives. No one view felt more or less cared for by the author, every character feeling three-dimensional and well rounded. Absolutely loved it, would fully recommend it to anyone to read.
