The Augmentors by Gemini Gibson
4.0
The Augmentors by Gemini Gibson is the first book I’m reading by this author. The cover is what initially caught my eye but after reading the blurb I was excited to dig my teeth (so to speak) into this book. This book one hundred percent lived up to its description and I loved it for it. This was an extremely well done story of man versus machine aspect. This story immediately drew me into its clutches and didn’t let me go. I finished it in one sitting, never once putting my kindle down. The worldbuilding was fantastic and the book was described to where you understood everything but was easy to picture what you’re reading as well. This book had a bit of everything… emotions, politics, morally gray areas and conflict. The characters to me were super relatable even as they were set in the steampunk type era. Enjoyed the one liners and banter that was throughout the book. Overall I really enjoyed reading this and am looking forward to more books.

Between Devils and Dragons by IVLG
4.0
Between Devils and Dragons: Hellish Lies by IVGL is the first book I’ve read by this author but holy crap was I all in. When I read the blurb of this book I just knew I had to have it in my life. My expectations were high when I started and were they met wholeheartedly in this book. I was hooked within the first few chapters and that didn’t wane even when I finished. I will mention checking your trigger warnings to be on the safe side. This to me had a great balance of plot and spice, I love a good dark fantasy book and this one was up there. The plot was so well done and creative… I haven’t recently read a book with a female succubus. I didn’t see or expect a lot of the twists and turns so that just shows how unique this story is. Loved the characters but I especially loved Ivy. She's tough and thinks on her toes. At times she frustrated me with her idea of a perfect life but at the same time I got it. Another character I really liked was Marcus, he was funny and smart. (He might be my favorite honestly) One if the best things about this book is how well the banter and the tension! It was so well written. I cannot wait for more from this author! Definitely am recommending this book.

The Gargoyle's Grace by L. Alexander
4.0
The Gargoyle's Grace by L. Alexander is book one in The Gargoyle Knights Series. It’s a Soul Mates Paranormal Fantasy Romance. After reading The Demon’s Deal I was already a fan of the way the author creates the story. So when I read the blurb for this book I was really looking forward to getting my eyes on this book. This novella had a fantastic balance of development along with romance. This is a fast paced story that enhances the resilience of the characters. I loved the banter between Grace and Magnus and the chemistry was amazing. Grace and everything she went through really tugged at my heartstrings. Where as Magnus was a sweetheart and I really loved his character. This novella was extremely well done and I devoured it, I couldn’t get enough. I can’t wait for more from L. Alexander as the tales being told are phenomenal. I would definitely recommend this read.

Tempt Me with Darkness by Shayla Black
4.0
Tempt Me With Darkness by Shayla Black is book one in the Doomsday Brethren Series. This is also the first book I’m reading by this author but holy smokes after this book I’m a fan. Wow! When I read the blurb of this it immediately had me in its clutches. I just had to get my hands and eyes on this. This is a re-done/updated version of the book that was published before. The plot/premise was unique and interesting. It hooked me from the beginning chapters and didn’t let me go until I finished. This was a well done paranormal fantasy romance that had some great worldbuilding. The chemistry between the characters of Olivia and Marrok was fantastic. I loved their banter. It took me on a journey with them, that’s for sure. It had great action and the twists were great. I’m definitely looking forward to reading more from this author and more books from this series.

Stevie by DJ Krimmer
5.0
Stevie by D.J Krimmer is book five in the Hel’s Ink Series. I’ve been reading this series since the beginning and each book just ups the ante. There’s always something special in each book that I just latch onto. This author has an incredible gift of being able to draw you into the story and make you feel as if you are there experiencing everything as well. This book exceeded every expectation that I had in place, completely blew them out of the water. I read this book in one sitting, I completely forgot how to be an adult that day. If I had to put this book down I wanted none of it. What makes the books so special to me is how relatable D.J Krimmer makes the characters. All have real life illnesses or disabilities, it makes them all so real. It’s incredible to read and to have the awareness/support. I fell in love with Brooks and Stevie’s journey. It was great to see him all invested in the relationship but to give her the time and space to get there. This book took me on an emotional ride but I was able to smile through my tears with the help of Stevie’s grandmother. She brought such a light. This series is fantastic and I can’t recommend it enough. This may even be one of my favorite series of all time.

Heirs of Darkness by Amber Thoma, Amber Thoma
5.0
Heirs of Darkness by Amber Thoma is part of the Realms of Lore: Fae. After reading the book Prince of Darkness, I couldn’t wait to get my hands and eyes on this novella. This blew my expectations out of the water, I loved it so much! This was an amazing glimpse into the past of Ciaran and Kes’ youth. It was exactly what I was hoping for… dark, funny and utterly addictive. I really felt the emotions in this book. I learned so much but has also made me even more curious. This book really shed some light on why the boys are the way they are. This was an amazingly written prequel that just has further fed my addiction to the first book. I honestly can’t wait for the next book in this series. I have nothing but high hopes. Can’t recommend this novella and A Prince of Darkness enough.

Brutal Rival by Ember Holt
5.0
Brutal Rival by Ember Holt is part of The Princesses of Ruin Series. This is the first book I’m reading by this author and oh my gosh did I love it! This book was amazing and I couldn’t put it down. The worldbuilding I thought was done really well and it set the tone for the book. I could clearly imagine everything I was reading by the descriptions. I read it in about a day, I barely put my kindle down. I’m a huge fan of the genre romantasy and this book definitely lived up to it. The plot just kept giving and it kept me intrigued/interest all the way to the end. It was the perfect mix of plot and spice for me. I absolutely loved the characters of Zane and Scarlett. It made me smile at the soft spot he had for her. But what a great pair, I really enjoyed reading their story. Oh my, the banter in this book! Even though this book is a standalone I can’t wait for the next in the series. I’m a fan and I definitely would recommend this book!

Garden of Secret and Shadow by Madalyn Rae
4.0
Garden of Secret and Shadow by Madalyn Rae is book one in The Vampires of New Orleans. This is the first book I’m reading by this author but oh my gosh what a book. When I read the blurb of this book I just knew I had to read it as it has two of my favorite things together… vampires and New Orleans. This was a quick read and pretty fast paced. Once the action started it happened all the way through. Sometimes it felt a bit much but that might just be me. The plot of the story was pretty fascinating and intriguing and the twists kept coming. There wasn’t much worldbuilding but it could be just setting up for that to happen in the next book but you are given plenty of information to keep you satisfied. Either way the book kept my interest until the end of the book. I read it in about a day never wanting to really put the book down. The characters are interesting and written well. It was suspenseful, had funny moments and just chaos. Definitely looking forward to the next book.

A New Reign by D.M. Simmons
5.0
A New Reign by D.M Simmons is book four and the finale in the Children of the Fallen Series, so needless to say you must read all the books before this one. When I read the first book I was entranced with the storytelling and worldbuilding that D.M Simmons had created. Each book just kept getting better and better. But let me tell you, A New Reign is hands down by far my favorite of the series. I’m addicted to this book, I keep going back to read my favorite line, scenes… I can’t seem to get enough. I read this book cover to cover never once wanting to put my kindle down, I honestly forgot how to be an adult when this book was in my hands. I loved reading all four points of views from the characters. Getting to read their preferences was great! One of my favorite moments was the call back to the After the Fall Duology… I was so excited! Gosh and the character development! I don’t even have words. Then there’s the spice, top tier… chefs kiss. It was so good!!! The banter between the boys has to be some of my favorite writing in all the books I’ve read. D.M Simmons created a fantastic series and I can’t recommend it enough. I’m eager for the next generation and whatever comes next. What a phenomenal journey this book took me on.
