I will eat up any famous person not-fampus person romance and second chance meet cute and this book has both of those tropes?! The perfect slice of happiness I need among the chaos right now.

Would bet a not insubstantial amount of money that Ali heard about how horny the Olympics village is and was like "yeah, I can write a story inspired by that".

Also this was fun but 460+ pages?!

As someone who read Shirlene's debut novel, I have to say she has found her bag with this book!! This book was sexy, it was smart, and it was thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. If you're looking for a modern exploration of love and friendship between men and women, you need this book. Dr. Jojo is a badass.

I didn't know that a small book of short stories could break my heart so completely.

If a book of artsy people yearning for each other and not-so-subtly writing poems about each other, you need this book. It filled part of the Seven Days in June shape hole in my heart and I could sustain myself off the delicious tension for days even if I think staying in love with the same person since high school is weird. Read this one if you want to kick your feet in giddiness every couple chapters!!

Another trilogy bites the dust in 2025! I thoroughly enjoyed this series and the contrast of Emily's scholarship with Wendell's magical charm, but I found this book to be the weakest of the three lacking the plot momentum of previous books. Regardless, I'm happy to see Emily and Wendell get their happy ending where Emily will get to continue studying the faerie world and writing many footnotes

This book had to have been pitched to publishers as "queer Monty Python" and it delivers on this in droves before turning into an action movie worthy final battle scene. This was the perfect escapist romp for the current times!

This book tapped into a nostalgic part of my brain that truly made me want to savor every page. favorite book in grade school was A Wrinkle in Time and my friends and I loved watching Howls Moving Castle together--and this book felt like the grown up version of that. I could not have enjoyed it more. The ending felt a tiny bit rushed but I loved the feel of this book overall too much to care.

🌶️PG-13

Another romance trilogy ends this year, what will I have to look forward to now? Iris got the love story this single mom deserved that was truly a Hollywood-level romance. I honestly struggled with connecting with Angel a bit, but I think that was because the audiobook's male narrator was low enough it blended in with highway driving noise and was a challenge at times, esp cially when this book felt a little bit long. If you're looking forward to finishing this series, I would recommend reading this one with your eyes.

Another romance trilogy ended this year! Aurora delivered all the feistiness headstrong righteousness I could want for a female doctor while Apollo had to of course be utterly obsessed with her. Maybe a tiny bit long, but these two were so lovely and hot together that it was the perfect way to end the series.
