Bit slow placed, sent me into a reading slump. Enjoyed the second half more than the first, as I struggled to find the plot. As well-fleshed out Bridget is, frankly it wasn't enough to redeem the book. Preferred the films.

Very very good. Only reason it's not a 5 stars is I found the ending relatively predictable. The voice in this steals the show - as someone who studied creative writing, I feel so exposed it was terrifying

Enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Although there are some strange ways of writing 'yeah' in dialogue

This was a really interesting book. The prose mirrors the style of 'on earth we are briefly gorgeous' in being poeticly written. Unfortunately, it is a victim of its time with several outdated stereotypes, however I still enjoyed it overall

This was a reread ready for class. I love the characters and their development and don't have many major faults

I much preferred the second half of this book and actually the ending is better than the film. That being said, this book is unfortunately a victim of its age. It's views on women are misogynistic at best, and doesn't have the best grammar. Gave a high rating due to the end

Just a cute, light hearted steminist book. Honestly not sure why everyone's so mad in their reviews - I was very happy reading it. Nothing toxic, a cute hedgehog, and brilliant narration. What's not to love

At first I wasn't a fan of the play because I found the pace too inconsistent. However, by the end, everything was wrapped up neatly. I enjoyed the characters and darker plot points that underpin the play

There were parts that were laugh out loud funny, parts I nearly cried from boredom, and I found a part of my future wedding vows. A mixed review for a mixed novel

It was alright - I preferred the romance parts to the war parts. I didn't fully understand a lot of the characters and there was too much moving back and forth between the two sides of the war
