I really like the main character. Avery is an incredibly capable and successful woman but suffers from crippling insecurity.  While this may get old for some readers,  as a fellow plus sized girl with anxiety, horrible self-esteem and low sense of self-worth, my heart went out to her. Finn was such an amazing guy and every time he teaches her how to love herself, it felt like it was healing a small part of me too. The plot was small but solid. The epilogue was truly the cherry on the cake so I genuinely wished the author had included it in the book properly. It truly tied the story together nicely and bumped it up from a 4.5 stars to the full 5 stars.

I didn't know what to expect when I picked up this book but it was really good. My first Riley Sager book and I was not disappointed. The main character is young, naive, and optimistic, but also very desperate, which explains alot of her actions. As someone who was been between jobs with no prospects and in need of money, I related to her in this aspect. I saw the villain and plot twist coming but then it twisted again, which was unexpected and actually quite nice.
Honestly thought the book was going to end with the MC's death for a second there but Sager closed the curtains nicely. But damn am I curious about what happened to Jane./spoiler>

Decent start. The anime adaptation was very faithful to the story.
