I usually really like Tsolkias’ writing but this was just way way too nihilistic for me to be able to get any enjoyment from it. I know that a lot of that is my not being able to relate at all to Ari but damn this is a bleak read.

I’ve never read a book in more desperate need of an editor than this. I truly truly hope this is not the only book that young people in this country read about this issue, as it’s a rambling poorly structured mess. Should have been a twitter thread.

It’s a real shame because rape culture in Australia is so pervasive and we could really use a good and considered Australian perspective on the topic, but this ain’t it. In the meantime, I would highly recommend you read Men Who Hate Women by Laura Bates instead.
