I loved Joy Kogawa’s writing style; beautiful use of imagery and immersive diction. Such a heart-wrenching story especially toward the end. Slow read for my taste but overall a wonderful book.

I think, as well-written as the book is, Lucy’s epilogue ties the book with a flourish, making the book beautiful as a whole. The epilogue feels more like a eulogy to help paint Paul as a person and what he meant to the people around him rather than just “Paul Kalanithi the author and doctor”.
