This is an unsettling story, a dark fairy tale of sorts, requiring you to not ask too many questions, because the town is not like elsewhere. I really enjoyed this book, it's short but didn't feel rushed, and had a few surprises along the way.

I really liked this very frank dive into the brain of someone with bipolar 1 disorder, and following along as Zack learns to navigate his new reality. I loved the banter and relationship between Zack (Gorilla) and his mom (the Bird). A good audiobook, read by the author.

This is one of my favorite books I've read so far this year. This book has the feeling of a memoir, but is a fictional story full of real life struggles, feelings, memories, relatable characters, and situations. It is not action packed (but not slow either), but rather it is emotional and hopeful and wonderful.

I don't often consume historical non fiction, but this was pretty interesting!

I'm having a hard time with what to write about this book. It is really great and necessary but also was really difficult. I definitely sobbed listening to this audiobook.

This was a slow read, but I couldn't put it down. I had a feeling of dread throughout, even though nothing overtly horrible happened. The ending was perfect.

I feel like this book was a bit disjointed, but it was a quick read, vibrant and youthful, with a healthy dose of sorrow, as the title implies. I liked Andy, but felt this story could have been a bit more cohesive.

I had not previously heard of Duchess Goldblatt before grabbing this audiobook, but definitely feel like I missed out on something good that came from Twitter! This is a fun listen, I especially loved J Smith Cameron as the voice of DG.

This is a great memoir, a reporter investigates his own life, revisiting memories and time periods with the people involved, stories often differing between the parties. Addiction, cancer, parenthood, all told with brutal honesty and dark humor.

This is a pretty straightforward memoir, following Ronnie's quick rise to stardom, abusive relationship with Phil Spector, her love of performing, and lots of stories, all told in a very easy conversational style. A quick read or listen!
