this wasn't necessarily boring but i expected much more from this book given that i found the premise quite interesting,, i'm glad nina started a new life but it also felt so sudden. kit's story also felt rushed to me, idk...... i enjoyed the flashbacks of their parents but i don't think it made much sense for the present timeline - the kids hate mick and that's about it?

i know who jennette is, but i have never seen anything she's acted in - due to high ratings of this memoir i decided to read it either way. i felt so sad for her and the trauma she's been through, i'm glad she seeked help bcs i know it's not easy to choose recovery. i'm not giving this a star rating bcs it was just so personal and touching, but it was definitely a very eye-opening read.

this just wasn't for me i think.... i had no idea what was happening half the time and had a hard time reading in this format (i guess i'm just used to traditional poetry). it was fine tho, i liked some poems notably from the first part
