Everyone has secrets… and the “truth” is never certain.
I enjoyed every single second of this book. It’s the perfect blend of true crime, historical fiction, and mystery that shines a light on the justice system of 1850, which, despite the passage of time, still serves as a useful lens through which to examine it today.
I’ll be reading the trial transcript next because I just don’t want the story to end. This is a book I'm absolutely sure I’ll read multiple times and I’m proud to have a signed copy on my shelf!
