Despite being my least favorite of her three I've read, this was still absolutely top tier. Mandel has a way with words that is unmatched. Autobuy author, period. If she decided to write an instruction manual for lawn aerators I would still be interested. I'm hooked 🤷‍♀️

I have never read a horror that was entirely from a kid's perspective. Creepy. These parents need therapy fr though 😬 perfect for a hella haunted fall read

O'Keefe is the official 👑 of sci-fi. I cannot with her 🫠  combat, intrigue, politics, zombie-ish creatures, science, impossible missions, found family, AI... Side bar --> The flirting is ELITE with these characters OMG!!

If Emily Has zero fans I am 💀 this was phenomenal. One of my favorite tropes in this novel. The way she writes is mesmerizing.

So refreshing. If you like speculative, you'll like this. This one will sit with me forever. Who would you be without society, or humanity, cities, relationships, technology?... I loved the what this book said and what it didn't, leaving space for the reader to ponder. Brilliant

Upside: I was genuinely claustrophobic in parts of this book. The secluded cabin-in-the-woods-snow-storm had me UNCOMFY.
Downside: I guess the killer at the beginning and was spot on about every twist. I wanted to be surprised, ALAS, was not.
Twas still a good time though.

A slow start and a brilliant end. This was fantastic. Very much outside my genre comfort zone. It is obvious why it has been nominated and awarded repeatedly.
