This book was profoundly emotional and informative at the same time. Montgomery is the perfect author to detail the histories of these incredible animals and I cannot wait to read more of her work.

This book is for fans of gritty, desperate, not-quite-good characters that have a hungry look in their eyes and bite first. I laughed, genuinely, out loud at this book and then cried in the next chapters. I loved every bit of it. The prose was perfect and the characters were complicated and starling house was rendered beautifully in my mind. If you liked ninth house, you’ll enjoy this.

I really enjoyed the end, where we got to see the effects of ptsd and her trying to cope with everything that occurred.
