Tää pitäisi lukea useamman kerran ja hitaasti keskittyen — niin paljon mielenkiintoista tietoa, että tulee suorastaan ähky (olisin silti voinut lukea toisen samanmoisen vaikka heti).

I was so sure of this becoming a 5-star read as I devoured the first 250 pages in one sitting, but the ending really disappointed me. I'd give the rest of the story only 3 stars as it felt chaotic, unrealistic and unfulfilling — and so the average of the brilliant beginning and erratic ending would be 4 stars. At least the solution wasn't predictable :)
I never read these as a child, but the amount of childhood nostalgia this book gave me is insane! I really liked the first half of the book, but then the fiction part of science fiction became too imaginary for me to just ignore it: I mean the plants and prehistoric animals section, which I heard was not a part of the original edition (at least in this length) and should have stayed so in my opinion. I can excuse traveling in underground tunnels, but dinosaurs and all those mixed species from different ages were too much.

Worst book I've read this year (and in a long time). The beginning was captivating, but then the story started dragging and I didn't manage to get my interest back again. Amarantha's riddle was so easy and predictable, I had no reason to root for Feyre as her fate was obvious. I didn't like her personality either — she either was a cold-blooded killer or a damsel sacrificing herself for everyone. The romance felt forced, as it was so heavily rooted in the circumstances: Feyre has no one else, so obviously she's going to fall for her captor. The faes' animalistic traits and centuries of age were huge turn-offs, and ruined even the little moments of romance I genuinely wanted to like.
All in all, not a book for me, and even though Feyre's future and the contract have piqued my curiosity, I won't be touching the sequels as this book already made me suffer enough.

the plot twist (and the whole of the plot) is very predictable if you are familiar with serial killer stories, but the reading experience was enjoyable nonetheless — especially considering when this was written!
haven't seen the movie (yet), but this made me curious :)

looking back this very clearly is a childrens book... such obvious plot twists and all, I wish I could go back to the time when I was able to fully immerse myself in the mystery. 4 stars for the nostalgia, nonetheless.❤️
