The ending!! It killed me! This book was so good though, and you definitely need to read it. I do, however, agree that it begins similarly to Red Queen but I couldn't tell you if it's like the Hunger Games because I haven't read it yet (crazy, right?). Anyways, this is amazing and I literally cannot wait for Reckless to come out.😭

I definitely had some issues with this book, but I just couldn't justify giving it less than five stars because it was so amazing and I just love it so much!

"Where there is life, there is hope."

This book was wild. The whole series is so unique and original. So much devastation, but just as much hope. I just love all of these characters so much😢💔

"You are broken. But it is the broken things that are the sharpest. The deadliest. It is the broken things that are the most unexpected, and the most underestimated."

What can I say? It's so horrifying to read about WWII. Especially in YA, where people my age lose not only their freedom and opportunities, but too often their own lives at such a young age. May we never forget what Jews all around the world survived then and now. Never forget the cruelty and pure evil and hatred that was shown against people who did nothing to deserve it. It's our job to stand up for people regardless of if it's the popular decision or not. What this book does highlight is how courage is for everyone who chooses it. It doesn't matter if you've had tragic things happen in your life or if it's been fairly easy- because we are still alive and we still get to wake up and choose to do our best to be kind, be brave, and to stand for what is right.
