This is fast paced for a history book & I recommend everyone reads it, whether you think you're interested in trans histories or not. It moves through many periods and places, so there's something for all tastes. I especially enjoyed the chapters on 17th century new England and on Angola in 16th century.

Really rich nature writing, focussed on the lives of geese in Norfolk. Nick writes beautifully about the birds, but also about the starkness of COVID lockdowns and their impacts.
