Behold a Pale Horse by Milton William Cooper

Hoooooboy. Lots to unpack. This conspiracy theorists "exposing" of the government as a backdrop to how we're controlled by fascist government and potential revocation of the constitution...? I'm supposing the physical copy has documents proving his claims, but the audiobook felt like an extremesists rambling of " this exists simply because I say it exists, and that's my evidence " is really heavy handed on new world order control. Written from an extreme white man's perspective, it is jarring to know that many people who are attracted to this type of rhetoric are so easily swayed into other avenues of extremist thinking.

X-Files portrayed some of these theories in a fantastical FICTIONAL show, and in that form, it's highly entertaining and imaginative. As written to be a journalism piece, I do not think it holds merit for people that are unwilling to dig in governmental archives and interpret the history of actions and laws.

I really enjoyed this story! Inspired by Beauty & The Beast, the characters were well fleshed out and the story clipped along at a pace that was satisfying. I enjoyed the side characters and their spurs of sarcasm. The spices scenes were the right amout of spice and while they were sort of heavy handed in the middle of the story, they didn't detract from the tale. Audio book narration was well done!

A whimsical Dr. Seuss book for obsolete children! Adorable illustrations and rhymes for people visiting over enthusiastic doctors offices and quite a satirical look at our Healthcare system.

I don't have any attachment to the characters. I'm not precisely bored, but I think I need more court intrigue...? Or battle action? Or smut? Or something. I'm not sure. Seeing as this book seems to be in a series, I'm less inclined to stick to the end of this first book. Perhaps I will come back to it?

I'm just not interested in the dynamic between the MCs. The smut scenes aren't at the pace I want them to be, and the story is lagging for me. Maybe it's a mood DNF for me and I'll come back to it?

This book can get into the thick of things with details and histories of Middle Earth. Andy Serkis' narration is TOP TIER and this book becomes alive with his reading.

This is spicier than the first book. A more fleshed out story. I liked the spunky witch (FMC). Might like a longer or more in depth tale with her. The Ferrel King (MMC) felt a tad bit banal.  Decent wrap up with a side character that felt nice.

Since it's a short novel, I can mostly accept that almost insta-love happens between the FMC, MMC.

A story of a won-Princess that is needed to be sacrificed to save a man from his curse. They fall for eachother and things work out.

Mild spice scenes.
