This book is just amazing! Set up as a series of short stories that are all interlocked, Erdrich manages to trace two families through three love and hate filled generations. I would recommend this book to everyone!

Alexie gives such beautiful insight into Native American culture in this series of short stories that are both laugh out loud funny and heart breaking at the same time! A must read!

This is a good book but can be confusing at times to read it you are not familiar with the non-linear story telling of the Native Americans.

I am a fan of this series, and this latest installment didn't fall short. The only hitch I have is that the center mystery seemed too easy. I didn't find myself guessing as to who the killer was--it was just handed to me. But the ending was perfect for the two central characters.

It kills me to write this review. I loved The Immortal Rules and recommended it to just about everyone I talked to. I was so excited to read The Eternity Cure which might be the problem. I was looking forward to a book that was just as good as the first but what I got was one with a lot of walking around. I feel like that is the main thing all of the characters did in this book--walk. Allie was almost annoying to me while reading. She was constantly worrying and second guessing herself. She must have done this in the first one and I just ignored it, probably because the plot was good. But this plot wasn't so good. I'm not a fan of New Covington and like the wandering around of the deserted cities and towns. I liked Jackal up until I realized why he sounded so familiar. He is Spike from Buffy, almost to a T. Once I pictured James Marsters it just fit perfectly. I gave it three stars mainly because I did like the first one so much and will likely read the third when it comes out. I just hope it is better than this one.
