mysterious and reflective, it starts off rather confusing but the plot unravels slowly. the ending is a bit of a let down.

a rare 5 star read. at first the lack of quotations scared me, but I'm so glad I kept reading. this novel is disgusting and confusing but it flows so beautifully and reads like a dream.

also I think I hate eggs now

this book ties into the canon established in Atwater's Regency Romance series. but it takes on a very different tone. this book is darker and gothic, with more overt violence. winnie is a very good protagonist and I found myself drawn in by the magic she performs. this book also isn't much of a romance, but that isn't a bad thing. personally I prefer the less romantic tone.

this book is such a joy to read. it's technically a 2 in one deal, with both parts being the main characters perspectives.

it reminds me of one of my favorite childhood book series, The Sisters Grimm, and because of that I love it.

I think this is one of those books people say they loved in order to sound smart. the ending was good though.

the romance is a bit slow burn, but the plot is paced weirdly. the writing is phenomenal.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 63%.
the format really wasn't for me. the stories were too short and there wasn't much in the way of explainations and insight from the author. just regurgitated stories he was telling back to us.
