The Witch of the Forest's Guide to Folklore Magick by Lindsay Squire

This was a lovely book! I really enjo9yed the illustrations and the information throughout the book. The combination of folklore, magical, and medicinal information to each herb, flower, and tree was a delightful reference read.
The Last Wizards' Ball by Charlaine Harris

This was an interesting book but honestly didn't feel like a satisfying ending. I liked the real world tie-in of WWII (which is I guess actually WWI in this world) but the character relationships were disappointing to me. I will continue to read and see what - if anything - happens next!
A Crimson Covenant by Aimee Donnellan

Oh I loved this book! It took me some time to get into this book - but only because I was distracted from reading this at first. I can't wait to read what's next and other books from this author. I loved the way depression and anxiety were depicted, and how the characters grew over time in this book!

I think I would read anything of RJB at this point (and in fact I am going back and reading all of his previous works!). I loved loved loved this book! The continued world-building, the unique characters and plot, the commentary on autocracy and bureaucracy, and the mystery of it all! I could see some of the twists coming, others I did not until the very end along with Din. I am really really looking forward to seeing what's next from Din and Ana and what RJB writes next!
The Black Gryphon by Mercedes Lackey, Larry Dixon

I enjoyed reading this book and I liked that the main storyline followed multiple individuals and each one had growth over time and over the period of the book. I'm really looking forward to reading the other books in this trilogy to see where the story goes!
Gaia Wakes: Earth's Emergent Consciousness in an Age of Environmental Devastation by Topher McDougal

An interesting book and concept, I struggled a bit reading this however, and I think the audience for this is more academic. Also, the watermark kept making it hard to actually read some of the text, so that definitely took away from my ease of understanding. 3.25/5
Sand, Snow, and Stardust: How Us Military Engineers Conquered Extreme Environments by GRETCHEN. HEEFNER
5.0
This was a really interesting book! I hadn't really given much thought to environments and what that would mean and so I found this book to be really engaging. I like how the book was organized (exactly how it was named!) and the inclusion of the pictures throughout gave some interesting context to the writing. Heefner's writing itself was also really well done, and I continually found myself taking notes as I learned new things.
Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan

This was an interesting, if dark story that reminded me a lot of my own father. I wish that this book was both longer and shorter, and I am not sure how to describe my feelings on this book.
The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson

It took me longer to get into this book than the first one, and I think because the actual action also took a bit to get into. I really enjoyed this book though!
