Packs an emotional punch as it explores the dissolution of life -as-you-know-it. The characters were real and the narration extremely believable (& unreliable).

So I figured out the twist of this one. But still a really fascinating read! Peggy's narration is simple, childlike, honest, and devastating.

I have spent a good amount of time reading similar true crime stories so naturally this one pulled me in.

I liked all of these stories! I thought they'd come together more but they do remain separate.

I love a family story, but this one lacked a bit of the tension I was hoping for. I thought the characters were sweet.

Ok I loved the writing style but this is a deeply odd story that wasn't as charming as the tone suggested. I had fun. But weird.

A sweeping story of sisterhood and motherhood and trauma and healing. Not 100% for me but pretty close. I loved the different POVs.

I LOVED this book as a young teen and the humour honestly does hold up. A quick read for a grown up but good clean fun.

It's been a long time since I was wrecked by a book like this.

I love Leonard Cohen and have always been interested in his love affair with Marianne, that inspired so much music and poetry. This was an interesting and intimate look into his muse. Some of the flow was awkward but I don't know how much that has to do with being transcribed from conversation and then translated.
