Delightfully charming, poignant, and a little devastating. A wonderfully told complex and challenging story. Highly recommend the audio.

Really really interesting concept, the execution left a little bit to be desired. Maybe it just wasnt paced quite right? Still a super fun read, I definitely enjoyed it!

Queen of Mystery is right!! What a master of her craft. I genuinely didn't see the ending coming, very very clever.

A completely engrossing story about girlhood and dreams and growing up and changing those dreams.
I was captivated from the start. I loved the innocent and slightly unreliable narration, the way the story and voice matured with the girls, making you feel like you were growing up with them. Elena and Lila's unspoken but very realistic competition to be the best, the first. Both feeling like they live in the other's shadow, in a way. Such a good read!

Based on a fascinating mythology, this book started out strong but was a bit much for me at the end. I appreciate the limits of the world and the great amount of research and care that went into telling this story.

A family, formed by accident, on a struggling farm in a struggling world. When a miracle arrives unexpectedly, they reckon with everything that has come before them and will come after.

This is a novel about climate change, but in her masterful way Barbara Kingsolver weaves in family, ambition, and believable, painful, personal growth. She's the best of the best, what can I say!

I LOVED the writing style and that kept me in. Very vivid storytelling and amazing imagery. But, and I can't believe I'm saying this, too many characters and not enough happens.

Raised some really interesting and practical ideas on keeping the Sabbath, making the practice intentional but still fit into your life. Lots of personal stories (from the author and others) to underscore each point.
