I really enjoyed the characters in this one, as well as the plot and informational pieces!

I read this multiple times as a kid, the last time I read it was maybe 7 or 8 years ago in college and it holds up!

I really wanted to like this one. I found the characters interesting, but the writing style just didnt' do it for me.

I really enjoyed this one - I like sweeping family stories and this one really centered on how family trauma can affect people long term, which I can relate to. I didn’t care as much for the sisters chapter but the rest was good!

This was maybe my least favorite Elin Hilderbrand book, mostly because I found it silly that all three wives
ended up leaving their husbands or marrying someone else.
I felt like there was no point to Deacon?

Maybe I just didn’t get it. I liked the food stuff though!!

I could not put this one down. The way it was written really lent itself to the anxiety the main character was feeling and I had to keep going to find out more. It made me very grateful for my awesome husband, that’s for sure!

I was very annoyed that she stayed with him for so long, but I also understand the not wanting to leave part, or feeling stuck.

I don’t recommend if you’re a new mother! Save this for a few years!
