The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I wanted to give TJR another shot and heard great reviews about 7HEH.
While the dramatic writing style isn’t my vibe, the book did draw me in, but I still had some major issues with this book (I also skipped over a lot of the paragraphs and read solely the dialogue for several, several chapters, and was able to follow along… I prefer hanging on a writer’s every word).
I do commend TJR for explaining and defending bisexuality very well, but the big reveal of this book concurrently outed a dead black man… by someone else giving his daughter a letter where he specifically says he wants to end his queer relationship and will never tell his family about his queerness because they are his world.
This book was soooo close to hitting the mark, but didn’t quite get there.
TJR is *not* queer, and so I would like to assume she doesn’t realize that, dead or not, outing someone is not okay.
Almost, dude. Almost.

The ending/resolution wasn’t as satisfying as I so wanted it to be, but I was sucked into every word by this author. Can’t wait to read more!

Very fun to read while in a cabin in the woods! I love mystery/thrillers that keep me wondering what’s going to happen, and I love being surprised with a good twist!
