A beautifully illustrated book about the jingle dance. I like how this one captures varying feelings at religious ceremonies--excitement and also needing to remember why you're doing what you're doing. Love the author's note and back matter.

This book made me chuckle. It's about the all-too-relatable issue of what makes someone a best friend? Can you have more than one? What happens if someone else you like shows up?  I love the illustrations.

I can't really relate to the block aspect of this book, having never lived in a major city. I do appreciate the art style and the celebration of living in an urban area that this book provides.

I must have only glanced at the cover of this book, because I was shocked when an alien appeared. It's a nice spin on your typical first day of school books, which gives it some more readability beyond that day. Additionally, for parents, there's the joy of seeing how the the teacher reacts to her first week at the job.
