Have you ever read a book and knew so quickly it would be forever a book your brain goes back to? This multigenerational tale truly kept me captivated. The way that it was written made you have to really think and reflect on each character and the ways they how and why changed. This book was not in my normal genre, that being said it truly may be one of my favorite reads this year. You hear about generational trauma, the generations of views on race, how easy and hard it is to become someone else, the ways that somehow stores seem to mirror the past, and so much more. I don’t want to give anything away, personally i want you to run, read this book, and message me.
Do you remember when you were a kid and you were obsessed with that one band? For me it was mindless behavior, Jonas brothers, 5 SOS, and 1D. The shirts and walls dedicated to their pictures of lyrics? Well imagine this, you've grown up and started upon this big Washington DC career where you are helping candidates get elected. Your president elect even gets voted into office! And unfortunately the story in the headline isn't about the amazing work you did, rather that A** who cheated on you. After coming back to society to work for a new candidate you truly believe can make a change in public reform of Universal Basic Income. And call of the sudden you get a call from the heart throb of your adolescence. You and him begin to form a connection where sparks start to fly
This book is short and sweet and was exactly what i needed after a big fantasy read!
One thing that you should know about me is that I LOVE A SPORTS ROMANCE i loved how this book gave a different story line than I had read before. It's not often that you hear about burn out in books and how that relates to people in different ways. Or the way that relying on people that you love to support you can be scary even when you know they want to be there for you. I love how friends become lovers and you get the see the step each one takes to let down their walls. I genuinely loved exploring this book and the story line and what can I say, we love for a book that highlights consents and boundaries. This was my first Bal Khabra read and I'm so excited to start reading Spiral soon
This was actually my second read and oh boy i caught up on so many details i missed the first time around! This book reminds me of game of thrones, hunger games, and divergent mixed together! I have not loved a fantasy book like this in years. It drew me in so quickly and i felt immersed in the world. I had the pleasure of reading it this time with the graphic audio and omg the experience of this was OUTSTANDING!
