Fast paced action coupled with deep emotion.

I adored Amari and the Night Brothers and its sequel does not disappoint.

Filled with more heartfelt interactions, deep connections and courage - this book takes the reader on an emotional rollercoaster. I enjoyed the character development within, and B.B Alston knows how to write a good villain. Someone who truly makes your blood boil, because the true monsters - are human.

I eagerly await the next installment in this fantastical, magical series!

Trigger warning for emotional abuse, gaslighting and toxic relationships.

A heartwarming story that tackles compatibility, heartbreak, trauma and ultimately love.

4/4.5 stars.

This doesn't quite get the full 5 stars as I felt there was something from the first book that was missing in this one. The ending also didn't quite tie everything up as I'd hoped. But I did enjoy the twists and turns, the savage undercurrent ect.

You can see the heavy Tolkien influence within this story. It was witty and adventurous and filled with intriguing characters.

An emotional rollercoaster.

Sincerely hope that this has a sequel as there is so much more story to tell and mysteries to be solved!
