It was a very interesting book, I'm really in awe of the risk the writer took to create it and pass it on. I loved how the stories showed us people's evolution from obedience towards distrust and hatred for the ruling Party. I wish it was fictional, it's terrifying to think that the regime really exists and there no signs that would indicate it being overthrown any time soon.

I had so much fun reading this book! I love reading about older characters and I really liked Amina's Crew. I'm looking forward to the next adventures of Al Sirafi.

It was a bit disappointing, I couldn't get into it for a while, then it was decent , then it got so dramatic and over the top that I kept rolling my eyes. Especially since the narrator is ridiculous in those moments.
Overall I liked spending more time with the kids but the sequel didn't charm me in the way the previous book did.

I lack the words to describe the horrors the characters went through and how it affected their whole lives. It would be devastating as a story, it's unimaginable that things like these truly happened.
