Hot Spot by Debbi Rawlins
5.0
I'm a sucker for a girl who doesn't think she's good enough....and a guy who sees who she really is. Jack and Madison were perfect for this. And so adorable! Such great chemistry....and interesting issues to be dealt with. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
Have Mercy by Jo Leigh
4.0
OK, well, I'm a sucker for animals anyways...and Jo Leigh wrote so that it wasn't too cutesy you know?? Mercy and Will were an interesting couple...Will so flawed, but with so much potential. And Mercy so damaged....they really suited each other. :)
Unfinished Business with the Duke by Heidi Rice, Tōi Hasumi

Issy was spunky and sassy...the misunderstandings didn't get drawn out really long, and in the end it was about growing and learning and whatnot (particularly for Gio). Loved his extended family.
Nick's Journey by Sue Fineman

Good heart...just felt a little stuttering...or something...just not smooth you know?
Maxine by Sue Fineman
2.0
2.5 stars -- it was an up and down journey for me. The plot was fairly interesting, though sometimes it didn't feel as though it flowed as smoothly. But it was the characters where I really felt hot and cold...I couldn't help but feel that Nick and Cara were not always portrayed consistently...or maybe I just liked parts of them, but really disliked others. So yeah, not my favourite.
Drew in Blue by J.M. Kelley
4.0
I enjoyed this so much more than I was expecting to. To begin with, I have no aspirations to be a mother...and usually books heavily involving children just don't do it for me (which begs the question, why did I purchase this one right?). But the book was just wonderfully written...it was more real. I don't even really know what most of the characters look like, and I didn't get the impression that Drew was this uber hottie, just an average guy. And boy, was he ever man-like in his personality sometimes....it was really refreshing. And how he dealt with Nick was just priceless and realistic. The friendship between Drew and Kris was fantastic...not perfect, but just real. Even the stuff involving the baby weren't all cutesie, but more realistic...it made the moments Drew described the snuggles hit my heart in a way that most books with children just don't... So yeah, real is basically the thing that stood out most for me. And funny. My brain feels like it's not writing good anymore, so I shall stop now....
The S Before Ex by Mira Lyn Kelly
3.0
Pretty good. Mostly just torn apart by tragedy and not trusting each other... The characters were fairly likeable right from the beginning. I guess I don't have much to say...can't think today. Enjoyed it, but probably not a re-read for me.
The Good Greek Wife? by Kate Walker
3.0
3.5 stars. I love reading Presents books, but I'm not blind to the faults inherent within. In this book, the misunderstandings were fairly reasonable, and involved a lot of lack of communication...so it wasn't too bad. And in general the main characters were enjoyable and fairly redeemable. Not a re-read, but not a regret...
Innocent Secretary...Accidentally Pregnant by Carol Marinelli
3.0
OK, I normally love Carol Marinelli...and there was something about Emma that was just fabulous. She has this not perfect and not glamourousness about her that I love (yeah, I'm ok with that personality, it fits with mine). But Luca kind of went too far to be redeemable. I know he had his reasons and fears, but I had a hard time forgiving him like Emma did. Hence the lower star wattage from me. Won't stop me from reading marinelli books though...
Castellano's Mistress of Revenge by Melanie Milburne
2.0
Probably even more of a 1.5 stars. I should have known...I've rarely enjoyed a Melanie Milburne novel. The characters are just not redeemable enough for me...so I just can't empathize with them. In the end they just make me cranky and disbelieving. Ah well...
