A Terrible Country by Keith Gessen
5.0
this novel is so well executed. it has a very nuanced approach to thinking about the self-centred nature of (male) academia, i found the relationships between characters to be so believable, the writing was unpretentious, and really loved the passages about contemporary gentrified capitalist moscow. i really felt like i was there.
