Genre & Tropes : fantasy x romance x coup plot x vengeance plot x royal x dragon x unicorn x mythology

Un premier tome d'une série de fantasy que je ne pensais pas aimer autant

OK je dois que ce livre était une très agréable surprise ! Même si j'ai adoré beaucoup de livres de S. Kenyon (Acheron <3), l'histoire d'une romance licorne / dragon m'avait un peu laissée dubitative (ça m'a un peu fait penser au premier tome d'Elder Races de Thea Harrison que j'avais pas du tout aimé)

ET POURTANT

Dès les premières pages, j'ai eu un coup de coeur et j'ai dévoré le livre !

Ce que j'ai particulièrement aimé :

- l'univers particulièrement riche ! Oui on a des dragons et des licornes mais aussi des faes, des trolls ... Mais l'auteure va plus loin en créant toute une culture et une histoire autour de ses races qui m'ont fasciné ! J'ai particulièrement aimé les licornes (la couleur de leurs cornes, leurs organisations ...)

- l'intrigue qui était très tordue et que j'ai dévoré ! D'une simple histoire de vengeance, on se retrouve avec des complots pour prendre le pouvoir, des trahisons, des mensonges ...

- les personnages que j'ai beaucoup apprécié ! J'ai été fasciné par Tanis qui malgré son passé horrible et sa nature de dragon a une certaine innocence qui l'a rendu très humaine et attachante (sa première transformation en humaine xD) mais j'ai aussi adoré Dash qui est loin du mythe de la licorne et du monstre avec son amour pour sa famille et ses doutes ...
Mention spéciale pour les Outlaws que j'adorais voir plus en détails mais surtout mention spéciale pour Naomie que j'ai adoré =D

- la romance qui n'était pas prédominante mais quand même importante et qui se passe tout en douceur et en instant mignon ! Oui il y a des scènes de sexe mais il y a aussi beaucoup de sentiments ce que j'ai particulièrement apprécié =)

Bref, un livre de fantasy avec une romance sexy mais aussi une intrigue forte en tensions que j'ai dévoré ! J'ai hyper hâte d'avoir le prochain tome (même je ne sais pas si j'aimerais un personnage différent pour chaque tome ou continuer avec Tanis et Dash !)

A first book of a fantasy series that I didn't think I would like as much

OK I have to say that this book was a very pleasant surprise ! Even though I loved a lot of S. Kenyon's books (Acheron <3), the story of a unicorn/dragon romance left me a little doubtful (it reminded me a little of the first book of Elder Races by Thea Harrison that I didn't like at all)

AND YET

From the first pages, I had a crush and I devoured the book !

What I particularly liked :

- the particularly rich universe ! Yes, we have dragons and unicorns but also faes, trolls ... But the author goes further by creating a whole culture and a history around all the races that fascinated me ! I particularly liked the unicorns (the color of their horns, their organizations ...)

- the plot which was very twisted and that I devoured ! From a simple story of revenge, we end up with plots to seize power, betrayals, lies ...

- the characters that I really liked ! I was fascinated by Tanis who despite her horrible past and her dragon nature has a certain innocence that made her very human and endearing (her first transformation into a human xD) but I also loved Dash who is far from the myth of the unicorn and the monster with his love for his family and his doubts ...
Special mention for the Outlaws that I'd love to see in more detail but especially special mention for Naomie that I loved =D

- the romance which was not predominant but still important and which happens very gently and in cute moments ! Yes there are sex scenes but there are also a lot of feelings which I particularly appreciated =)

In short, a fantasy book with a sexy romance but also a plot full of tension that I devoured ! I can't wait to have the next book (even I don't know if I would like a different character for each book or continue with Tanis and Dash !)

Le troisième tome d'une série de romance mafieuse que j'ai lu avec plaisir

Depuis le premier tome avec Elian, je l'ai adoré et j'étais hyper curieuse de voir avec qui il allait terminer ... Et j'ai adoré Elizabeth ! Elle était tellement humaine et terre à terre et quand elle se retrouve au milieu de cette histoire de mafias, j'ai adoré le fait qu'elle reste fidèle à ses principes tout en restant prudente ! Et bien sûr, la voir tomber amoureuse d'Elian et réciproquement !

Bref, une romance mafieuse à la fois sexy et mignonne que j'ai lu trop vite ! Je veux tellement un tome avec d'autres personnages secondaires, notamment la famille d'Elian !

PS : j'adore toute la description de nourriture !

The third book of a mafia romance series that I read with pleasure

Since the first book with Elian, I loved it and I was super curious to see who he would end up with ... And I loved Elizabeth ! She was so human and down to earth and when she finds herself in the middle of this mafia story, I loved the fact that she stays true to her principles while remaining cautious ! And of course, seeing her fall in love with Elian and vice versa !

In short, a sexy and cute mafia romance that I read too quickly ! I really want a book with other secondary characters, especially Elian's family !

PS: I love all the food descriptions !

Genre & Tropes : romance contempo x mafia x suspense plot x friends to lovers x dark past

Un deuxième tome avec Dav et Cinna que j'ai dévoré !

Depuis que j'avais eu les premiers aperçus de Dav et Cinna, j'avais hyper hâte de découvrir comment Cinna allait FINALEMENT succomber aux charmes de Dav ... ET J'AI ADORE !!

C'était génial de voir ces deux personnages tellement méfiants avec un passé si sombre et mal à l'aise avec leurs sentiments finir par s'ouvrir à l'autre (même si mon cœur s'est brisé dix fois quand Cinna a rejeté Dav ><) et j'ai beaucoup aimé l'intrigue (même si horrible pour Cinna !!)

L'épilogue était top avec leur famille recomposée <3

Bref, une romance mafieuse à la fois sombre, mignonne et sexy que j'ai adoré ! J'ai tellement hâte d'avoir le prochain tome avec Elian !

A second book with Dav and Cinna that I devoured !

Since I had the first glimpses of Dav and Cinna, I was really looking forward to discover how Cinna would FINALLY succumb to Dav's charms ... AND I LOVED IT !!

It was great to see these two characters who are so suspicious with such a dark past and uncomfortable with their feelings finally open up to each other (even if my heart broke ten times when Cinna rejected Dav ><) and I really liked the plot (even if horrible for Cinna !!)

The epilogue was great with their blended family <3

In short, a dark, cute and sexy mafia romance that I loved ! I can't wait to have the next book with Elian !

Pas mon tome préféré de la série ni même de l'auteure

Si j'ai globalement plutôt bien aimé la série sur les Carters, ce n'est pas la série de Lani Lynn Vale que j'ai préféré (tout ce qui se passe à Kilgore était mille fois mieux !) et ce tome là m'a laissée globalement indifférente ...

Je n'ai ni aimé Gable (trop dur avec Athena), ni Athena (qui ne prend quasiment que des décisions idiotes alors qu'elle est censée être hyper intelligente), ni l'intrigue (qui avait pourtant beaucoup de potentiels avec la famille d'Athena ou les bikers mais tout se règle trop rapidement et en coulisses !) et ni la romance (la première scène dans le bar ... Tellement surréaliste et insta-love / lust ensuite ...)

Bref, une romance qui est loin de m'avoir convaincue ! Il ne reste qu'un tome mais c'est l'un de ceux que j'attends le plus donc j'espère ne pas être déçue =)

Not my favorite book of the series or even of the author

While I generally liked the series on the Carters, it's not Lani Lynn Vale's series that I preferred (everything that happens in Kilgore was a thousand times better !) and this book left me generally indifferent ...

I didn't like Gable (too hard on Athena), nor Athena (who almost only makes stupid decisions when she's supposed to be super intelligent), nor the plot (which had a lot of potential with Athena's family or the bikers but everything is resolved too quickly and behind the scenes !) and neither the romance (the first scene in the bar ... So surreal and the insta-love / lust afterwards ...)

In short, a romance that is far from having convinced me ! There is only one book left but it is one of those that I am waiting for the most so I hope not to be disappointed =)

Une romance de mafieux que j'ai lu avec plaisir !

Après avoir vu les Costa et les Grassi, j'étais curieuse de découvrir les Lombardi qui sont complétement différents des autres familles : ils sont moins costumes et cocktails et plus jeans et pizzas, les femmes peuvent être capi et ils sont un peu plus "bruts de décoffrage" =)

Mais ça ne m'a pas empêché de bien les aimer !

Ce n'est pas mon tome préféré parce que :

- j'aurais voulu un tome plus long pour laisser le temps à Lore de vraiment prendre ses marques et Renzo de se reprendre (et de rattraper tout ce qu'il avait mal fait jusqu'ici !)

- bien que j'aime beaucoup les romances avec un grand écart d'âge, ici il y avait aussi un déséquilibre très (trop ?) grand en termes de rapport de forces et d'expériences qui m'a un peu gêné ...

Ça reste quand même une romance forte en émotion (j'avoue la scène avec Lore dans la rue, ça m'a fait pleurer ><) que j'ai lu avec plaisir jusqu'à la fin !

Bref, une romance sexy et forte en émotions que j'ai lu avec plaisir !

A mafia romance that I read with pleasure !

After seeing the Costas and the Grassis, I was curious to discover the Lombardis who are completely different from the other families : they are less suits and cocktails and more jeans and pizzas, the women can be capi and they are a little more "rough and ready" =)

But that didn't stop me from loving them !

This is not my favorite book because :

- I would have liked a longer book to give Lore time to really find her feet and Renzo to make up for everything he had done wrong up until now !

- although I really like romances with a big age gap, here there was also a very (too ?) big imbalance in terms of power and experiences that bothered me a little ...

It's still a romance full of emotion (I admit the scene with Lore in the street made me cry ><) that I read with pleasure until the end !

In short, a sexy and emotionally strong romance that I read with pleasure !

Une romance de mafieux sous haute tension !

Techniquement, ce livre ne fait partie d'aucune série pour l'instant mais c'est un complément aux livres de la série Costa Family vu que l'une des personnages principaux est Isabella Costa =)

Je dois avouer que j'étais HYPER curieuse de lire ce tome vu les petits aperçus que j'avais eu jusqu'ici de Primo et Isabella (et surtout les allusions à l'impact qu'avait eu leur union sur Emilio !) et, si ce n'est pas mon tome préféré (parce que j'aurais voulu un tome plus long qui laisse le temps à leur relation de dépasser toute l'histoire du kidnapping !), j'ai quand même beaucoup aimé lire leur romance avec toute la tension autour des relations entre Isabella et Primo mais aussi la façon dont petit à petit ils finissent par tomber amoureux et avoir une relation bien plus saine !

Bref, une romance forte en rebondissement et sexy que j'ai lu avec beaucoup de plaisir !

PS : j'espère tellement qu'on aura un tome avec Mira et Vissi !

A high-tension mafia romance !

Technically, this book is not part of any series yet but it is a complement to the books in the Costa Family series since one of the main characters is Isabella Costa =)

I must admit that I was SUPER curious to read this book given the little glimpses I had so far of Primo and Isabella (and especially the allusions to the impact that their union had on Emilio !) and, if it is not my favorite book (because I would have liked a longer one that would give their relationship time to go beyond the whole kidnapping story !), I still really enjoyed reading their romance with all the tension around the relationship between Isabella and Primo but also the way in which little by little they end up falling in love and having a much healthier relationship !

In short, a romance full of twists and turns and sexy that I read with great pleasure !

PS: I so hope we get a book with Mira and Vissi !

Une romance un peu sombre et décalée que j'ai lu avec plaisir

Comme je suis toujours malade mais que j'ai lu trop de romances mafieuses, je me suis dit que j'allais faire une pause avec une romance de justicier (avec des vibes de tueurs en série ><) et je l'ai lu avec beaucoup de plaisir ! Le passé des deux héros était absolument HORRIBLE et m'a brisée le coeur mais j'ai adoré du coup qu'ils se trouvent et tombent amoureux malgré les épreuves qu'ils ont vécu !

Bref, une romance sexy avec des personnages à la moralité discutable mais que j'ai lu avec plaisir !

A slightly dark and offbeat romance that I read with pleasure

Since I'm still sick but I've read too many mafia romances, I thought I'd take a break with a vigilante romance (with serial killer vibes ><) and I read it with great pleasure ! The past of the two heroes was absolutely HORRIBLE and broke my heart but I loved that they found each other and fell in love despite the trials they've been through !

In short, a sexy romance with characters of questionable morality but that I read with pleasure !

Une romance mafieuse sexy et étonamment mignonne

Emilio a toujours été un de mes personnages préférés dès le départ et je dois avouer que j'étais curieuse de voir avec quelle femme il allait terminer ... Et j'ai ADORE sa première rencontre avec Avery ! Elle m'a tellement fait rire (toutes ces maladresses xD) et j'ai adoré la façon dont Emilio tombe amoureux d'elle justement parce qu'elle est loin d'être parfaite !

L'intrigue paraissait horrible et tendue au départ (je crois que j'étais aussi angoissée que Avery que Emilio découvre la vérité sur elle ><) mais finalement la résolution n'était pas aussi douloureuse =) (et j'avoue j'ai bien aimé Renzo !)

Bref, une romance mafieuse que j'ai lu avec plaisir ! Je dois avouer que je suis très curieuse pour l'histoire avec Cosimo mais aussi Renzo !

A sexy and surprisingly cute mafia romance

Emilio has always been one of my favorite characters from the beginning and I have to admit that I was curious to see which woman he would end up with ... And I LOVED his first meeting with Avery ! She made me laugh so much (all those clumsiness xD) and I loved how Emilio falls in love with her precisely because she is far from perfect !

The plot seemed horrible and tense at first (I think I was as anxious as Avery that Emilio would discover the truth about her ><) but in the end the resolution wasn't as painful =) (and I have to admit I really liked Renzo !)

In short, a mafia romance that I read with pleasure ! I must admit that I'm very curious about the story with Cosimo but also Renzo !

Le premier tome d'une série de romances mafieuses que j'ai dévoré

Comme j'avais lu les autres tomes, je me suis ENFIN décidée à lire le premier xD Et j'ai adoré voir Luca tomber amoureux de Romy (leurs premières rencontres xD) et la façon dont Romy n'hésite pas à tenir tête à Luca malgré le danger apparent !

L'intrigue était horrible et j'ai beaucoup aimé la résolution (même si j'avoue avoir vu venir l'issue assez rapidement ><)

Bref, une romance sexy et un peu sombre que j'ai lu avec beaucoup de plaisir ! Comme j'ai lu quasi tous les livres de la série, je les recommande pour tous les fans de romances contempo avec une touche de suspense et des mafieux aux moeurs discutables (mais avec un code de l'honneur bien établi !)

PS : mention spéciale pour le petit aperçu de Lorenzo Costa et Gianna (qui est dans le coffre xD)

The first book of a mafia romance series that I devoured

Since I had read the other books, I FINALLY decided to read the first one xD And I loved seeing Luca fall in love with Romy (their first meetings xD) and the way Romy doesn't hesitate to stand up to Luca despite the apparent danger !

The plot was horrible and I really liked the resolution (even if I must admit I saw the outcome coming quite quickly ><)

In short, a sexy and slightly dark romance that I read with great pleasure ! As I have read almost all the books in the series, I recommend them for all fans of contemporary romances with a touch of suspense and mafiosi with questionable morals (but with a well-established code of honor !)

PS: special mention for the little glimpse of Lorenzo Costa and Gianna (who is in the trunk xD)

Une romance mafieuse sous tensions que j'ai dévoré et probablement l'un de mes tomes préférés dans cette série !

Comme je suis toujours patraque, je me réfugie dans les livres de Jessica Gadziala qui ont l'avantage de me distraire et de rarement me décevoir =)

J'ADORE la famille Grassi et après avoir lu les livres dans le désordre xD, j'étais curieuse de voir l'histoire de Lucky ... Et j'ai absolument adoré le voir tomber amoureux de Via ! Et Via ! Quel personnage ! J'ai adoré la voir à travers les yeux de Lucky puis voir à quel point l'image qu'elle projetait cachait quelqu'un de terrifié mais aussi très courageux malgré les épreuves horribles qu'elle traversait (son père !!! HORRIBLE !!)

Leur première rencontre puis la seconde étaient parfaites et toute la tension autour de la mission de Via ... Et cette scène où Via pense que Lucky est mort et qu'elle craque !! OMG !!

Mention spéciale pour Lorenzo et Luca quand ils découvrent que Lucky n'a pas exactement respecté la règle du "Pas touche" xD

Deuxième mention spéciale pour Brio que j'adore (ça m'a donnée envie de relire son livre !) mais Massimo aussi ><

Bref, une romance de mafias un peu sombre et sous tensions que j'ai dévoré !

A mafia romance under tension that I devoured and probably one of my favorite books in this series !

Since I'm always feeling under the weather, I take refuge in Jessica Gadziala's books which have the advantage of distracting me and rarely disappointing me =)

I LOVE the Grassi family and after reading the books out of order xD, I was curious to see the story of Lucky ... And I absolutely loved seeing him fall in love with Via ! And Via ! What a character ! I loved seeing her through Lucky's eyes and then seeing how the image she projected hid someone terrified but also very courageous despite the horrible trials she was going through (her father !!! HORRIBLE !!)

Their first meeting and then the second were perfect and all the tension around Via's mission ... And this scene where Via thinks Lucky is dead and she breaks !! OMG !!

Special mention for Lorenzo and Luca when they discover that Lucky didn't exactly respect the "Hands off" rule xD

Second special mention for Brio who I love (it made me want to reread his book !) but Massimo too ><

In short, a mafia romance a bit dark and tense that I devoured !
