In Black and White: A Young Barrister's Story of Race and Class in a Broken Justice System by Alexandra Wilson
5.0
I personally am aiming to be a solicitor rather than a barrister but it was nice to read a law book that had someone who looked like me. Seeing how the criminal justice system operates through the lens of a black woman was something that I truly needed and an important read for Women’s month!
It highlights the flaws within the system, including both the procedural and structural aspects as well as the limited representation and the courts approach towards different people in society.
I truly enjoyed reading this book!

The Girl with the Louding Voice by Abi Daré

This was a lovely book!
It was a new take towards Nigerian books since we’re not following a typical middle/upper class Nigerian. Instead, we see the story and learn about Nigeria through the lens of a house girl. We learn about the many problems within Nigeria and despite that, how Adunni didn’t lose faith in herself.
Great book!!!
