I might pick this up again in the future because it is an interesting idea. But I just can’t mentally handle the eating disorder, it’s just too all-encompassing and too triggering. There’s not enough of the story I’m invested in that helps make this book feel like less of a chore to pick up because I have I steel myself for the calorie counting or the body issues on every page. I’m excited to see what the future holds for this author

Didion’s writing is very good, but it was extremely white with a narrow scope of perspective. I also just can’t do short stories
