The Love Wager by Lynn Painter

This was my first Lynn Painter book; unfortunately, it was just okay for me.

The main thing that threw me was that it was written in third-person dual POV. I don’t think I’ve dealt with that in a read yet, and it was not for me. It was weird and I felt it caused a disconnect between me and the characters.

Highlights:
- fake dating (one of my favorite tropes)
- the steam (good for newbies)
- catching feelings
- friendship development
- date with Stephen

Well, I have a new favorite character in the Magnolia Parks Universe! I LOVED Daisy and I loved her story!

This one definitely had more of a plot than the first, but because of that I think the relationship between Christian and Daisy didn’t hit the same compared to Magnolia and BJ’s.

There were a lot of relationship dynamics in this one (it was MESSY) and people to keep track of, especially when it came to Daisy’s love life. That girl’s got it GOING ON! She’s a badass FMC and my heart was in her corner the whole time. But I tell you, I have NO IDEA how her story is going to play out because WHEW, it’s a doozy!

I’m interested to see what the future holds for Julian, and whether he’ll be a character I’ll be rooting for. He’s very complex, and I was SHOOK by his actions in the last third of the book. IYKYK.
