Love this adult little mermaid retelling. It's dark, spicy, and I loved the chemistry between the prince and Orsana, the sea witch.
I liked that this showed a different side to the mermaid and prince pairing and the king of the sea, and Orsana was an anti-heroine.
I enjoyed that Malekai wasn't arrogant too and he actually wanted to make a change and help his people.
It's a fun twisted retelling.

I loved everything about this. The worldbuilding and magic is intriguing, the characters are funny and chaotic, and everyone is hiding something so it keeps you on your toes.
There's drama, action, mystery, and lots of conflicted romance. I absolutely love the concepts of soul bonds with allies, lovers and enemies too.
I was hooked start to finish, and desperately need more of this amazing series!

This was a quick read with an intriguing storyline. Whilst primarily following the main character and their superhero powers, it also features various genres including mystery, drama, action, fantasy, romance.
Some scenes felt a little rushed and would have been nice to see further character development.
The ending sets it up for future books so will be interesting to see how the Hyperion story develops.
