i really enjoyed this book until the 3rd act breakup scene. it felt very out of place for both characters and the way they were acting, especially matt, what honestly uncomfortable to read. it was weird to feel like he was owed something by lane. i did however really enjoy the mental health/anxiety rep in this book. it was really well done! i loved lanes relationship with her sister, who i relate to just a little too much lol. i am excited to read the rest of this authors books!
i really can't believe this is a debut novel!!! the writing is gorgeous and my heart has felt so many emotions while reading this book. it was definitely a little hard for me to get into but once i got through the middle, i felt it was easier to read. i'm not a big fan of open endings but i do like that this one gave me a little bit of hope.
this was so CUTE!!!! it dealt with a lot of heavy topics but i appreciate that it still kept it lighthearted. i kind of wish i understood why cara changed her mind at the end. i think that i wanted a little bit more from that plot point. overall, such an enjoyable read.
loved the back and forth between the poet and aphrodite. the poems were very intimate and i honestly loved all of them. there were some poems that i really needed to hear and resonated with me.
this was such a fun and enjoyable read! i think my only problem is there are a ton of characters to keep track of, but i think if i read the book along with the audio then it would've helped me remember everyone.
i think this one may be my favorite in the series so far. i felt like the topics were handled so beautifully and i cried multiple times while reading. the title really does remain true. i will be thinking about this book for awhile.
this was a super cute and lighthearted read. i enjoyed how all the characters are connected together and overall, i enjoyed all the messages and themes presented. i also like the astrology aspect as someone who has been interested in learning more! as far as cozy translated fiction goes, this one was pretty good. the writing was pretty simple which made the story very easy to understand. not my favorite out of all the translated fiction books i've read but definitely one worth reading!
i definitely enjoyed the plot of roku's story. the multiple perspectives kind of drew me out of the reading experience and i wish the author had just stuck to roku and sozin.
i thought this was a really beautifully written book. novels in verse are some of my favorites. i enjoyed the journey sky goes on to finally accept herself. i thought there were great themes of identity and of course friendship. i like that it touched on colorism as well. i think my only qualm with this book is that i almost wish it were a little longer!
