The Favorite Game by Leonard Cohen
3.0
It's the crapshoot of prose written by a poet: parts break your heart, other parts fail to keep your attention.
How to Rent a Negro by damali ayo

It's hard to effectively translate a website into a book, I think.
Fugitives and Refugees: A Walk in Portland, Oregon by Chuck Palahniuk
2.0
An enjoyable enough but frankly lazy guide to Portland, Palahniuk just tells you about his favorite places and things to do in town. The misspellings were baffling, including "Oakes Park" twice, and the perplexing "corpuscular" for crepuscular.
Shortcomings by Adrian Tomine

This was a quick read, but what an enjoyable treatment of the many complexities of race and attraction. Also, the main character is pretty unsympathetic, and yet I enjoyed reading about him, which is unusual for me.
