The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
5.0
First book that I've read in a couple years that actually lived up to all of the hype people gave it.
Because of Miss Bridgerton by Julia Quinn

This was a fun, light-hearted read, and a good slow burn. A nice mental break from my heavier reads.
The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson

Phenomenally written. My heart raced during the anxiety-inducing night portions. Those combined with the banality of some of the daytime conversations between characters only made the scary moments more glaring.
Hunt for the Skinwalker: Science Confronts the Unexplained at a Remote Ranch in Utah by George Knapp, Colm A. Kelleher

(Much more of a 3 5) This was a very good book. Most of it was incredibly well-written, with building anxiety and empathy for the family who experienced all of these events. Toward the end, it did feel a little more dry & seemed to jump around a little more, in a way that I found myself distracted. Understandable with the need to balance the chaos of the subject matter, however. Overall, I'm still very glad I checked this out! (Thanks, Last Podcast on the Left.)
Stay Sexy & Don't Get Murdered: The Definitive How-To Guide by Karen Kilgariff, Georgia Hardstark
5.0
I've been going through another bad bout of depression, so focusing long enough to read is a f*cking nightmare. This is the first book that I've been able to actually READ in months.
I laughed throughout the stories, bawled my eyes out when Karen wrote about her mom (alzheimers, what a c u next tuesday), nodded my head in agreement about so much, and felt truly understood by both Karen & Georgia. Fans of the podcast, the women, humor, and memoirs will love this book.
Stay sexy, and don't get murdered!
