It was a sweet, little romance. For me, it took too long for the romance part to get going and I feel like I didn't get enough of the development of Shioban 's relationship with Emily bc she was too focused on the hot son and falling in love.

I'm still processing because this book made me think about the people being bombed in Gaza and Ukraine. How was destroys and rips apart people and families. It was beautifully written, but I left feeling too emotional right now to put anything else down..

It definitely grew on me the longer I listened and my expectations adjusted to the meandering thoughts and stories of the characters.

It was well written and it was an easy book to fall into and keep going with. It made me sad as most dystopian futures do since the reflect our current reality too much. I found the ending bittersweet and hopeful since I'm still upset about the loss of Ri-Ri. I wish there would have been a bit more clue in how they are going to fight back. But it could be more that they are going to to continue to dream and live on and that is part of how they fight. I may need some time still with this one.
