Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne

For those interested in the ocean and life contained within, this is a great read. Story is well written but slowed down by numerous paragraphs detailing the different classifications of animal and fauna, and coordinates of islands discovered by whom and when. You have to remember the main character is a scientist and such details are his life's work. This was written in a world that hadn't completely mapped out the world let alone discovered the North Pole or Antarctica

007 in his debut gripped me today like it did to people when it was first published. Outstanding

Keep in mind it was written before the world was completely mapped. Outstanding

Makes one realize that man likes to play god and makes one wonder how animalistic we are as a species. Very good read

An adventure filled with norse mythology, historical fact and religious conflict. Exciting and fun, despite the confusing start where present and flashback are mixed and so many characters where its hard to keep track of them. Low killed off plenty of those characters and introduced several to replace them. Had to go back several chapters to sort out which characters were the villains and which were allies.
But all in all, this was an enjoyable read
