The fantasy, world-building elements are about a 2.5/5 but the spicy scenes are 6/5. I can’t imagine giving less than 4 stars.

This book is lovely, cozy, and it absolutely made me want to quit my corporate career and open a neighborhood bookshop/cafe even more. The characters feel like real people with real conversations and development.

I do think that to appreciate this book entirely, an understanding of Asian culture is essential. Many of the life themes are applicable to anyone but to appreciate how cozy this book is, understanding Korean life and life in Asia makes it even better.

A beautiful story I enjoyed like a good cup of coffee.

It was predictable in a comforting way, if that makes sense. Almost like the Real Housewives became a thriller.
