Sometimes it's really nice to sit down and read a short story during your break. And if it's an MM with a friends to more bi-awakening, I'm sold.

There's not much to say about this one being as it was only 50 pages.  Kyla and Derek have been friends since freshman year and are now roommates.  Derek has been single for 6ish months, and is secretely crushing on his roommate.  They attend a frat party together, and things begin to change after they kiss during a game.

This was honestly great.  I loved it and can't wait to read the next Quick Bite.

ARC REVIEW

Damn this book gave me whiplash 😅

I don't want to say too much because I don't want to spoil this one for anyone, so it's really difficult to write a review for this one. But I will summarize this into 3 main points:

1. Matty and Britt are everything - like seriously. Friends to lovers is my favourite trope and these 2 had such a genuine connection.

2. I'm down bad for possessive Matty. Who knew the introverted kicker would have such a possessive streak to him. And the mouth on this man? He had me sweating 🥵

3. Olana is a she-devil. I have never wanted to throat punch a character so much before. Everytime I thought Matty and Britt would finally get their HEA, she showed up. She was such a great villain but man, did I hate her guts.

This was truly an amazing story. Yes, there's lots of drama but it's all imperative to the story in order for the characters to develop and grow. Britt and Matty's journey wasn't easy and at times it was quite frustrating and heart breaking, but I wouldn't change a thing.

AUDIO REVIEW

This was the perfect ending to the series.

Xander and Derek were everything I expected and more. I knew I was going to love Xander's story the moment I listened to The Husband Hoax. He always intrigued me and I knew his story was going to be difficult but so worthwhile.

I enjoyed that this one was a slow burn. It made more sense given Xander's history of abandonment and mental health. He had to learn to help/love himself before he could truly love Derek.

And Derek was the most patient and gentle man to Xander. When he had to put his foot down with Xander and give him an ultimatum, my heart broke for both of them. But it was necessary as they couldn't have a future if Xander didn't get help.

Their journey was messy and difficult, but the way they grew individually and together was so beautiful.

A brother's best friend where the brother is over protective? Don't mind if I do.

Yeah, so, if it's in the sadenverse, I'm gonna love it.

East and Knox's relationship was soooooo good.  There was so much tension between the 2 and I loved every moment of it. I liked that their journey wasn't easy.  Between East's over protective brother and their jobs potentially causing issues, they had a lot going against them.

And not gonna lie, Knox annoyed me there for a moment, until he got his head out of his ass.

AUDIO REVIEW

Well, this one hurt a bit. After listening to the third one in this series, I wanted to go back and listen to Curtis and Logan's story and wow did it make me feel so many emotions.  Although this one does have a dom-sub k!nk (smaller dom x bigger/muscular sub), it's also about moving on after losing the love of your life.  Curtis thought he would spend the rest of his life with Theo, but 2 years after his death, he's still struggling to move on.  When he discovers that Logan is a dom, he proposes a casual arrangement where they can both benefit.  But after a while, Logan wants more from their arrangement but Curtis is too scared to get hurt again.

Excuse me while I sit in my feelings for a moment......

Okay.  I'm ready.

SAMANTHA BRINN?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! THIS WAS SO FREAKING AMAZING.

I know it's cliché, but omg, words seriously cannot express how much I LOVED this book.  There isn't a single thing I would change.

First of all, I'm a sucker for a hockey boy who's a little bit broken.  Jermey made me want to wrap him up in a big hug and never let go.

Then we have Emma, who is a total badass.  Like seriously, can she become my new best friend? She's such an amazing friend and person and knows exactly what everyone needs.  She so in tune to other people's feelings and will put her friends and family first (so thank god she has amazing friends who are there for her when she doesn't realize she needs them).

Emma and Jeremy are PERFECT for each other.  He needs someone who is patient and will reassure him and she needs someone who is all about her.

And finally we have Maddy aka Little Red.  The effect that Maddy had on my heart was insurmountable.  She came into Emma and Jeremy's life at the perfect moment, allowing the 3 of them to become a little family. When I tell you my heart weeped for Jermey and Maddy's pasts, I mean it cracked open and bled all over the floor.

This series just keeps getting better and better and I can't wait for Molly and Gabe's story.

NASH F*CKING SIMMONS EVERYONE.

Talk about a man down bad.

MYP is now my favourite Cali Melle book. Everything about this one was just so amazing.  I was in a bit of a slump before I picked this one up, and just like I expected, it brought me out of the slump.

Riley is a fiercly independent person who rarely asks for help.  Although she has a support team around her, she's used to doing things on her own.  However, when she starts to have some health problems during her pregnancy, she has no choice but to slow things down.

Enter Nash; brother of Luna, aka Riley's best friend, who has been in love with Riley for years.  Nash wants nothing more than to help Riley.  Not only does he want to be part of her life, but also part of her baby's, even though it's not his.  Nash makes it known that he's not going anywhere, but is it enough for Riley to finally let him in?

When I tell you I swooned while reading this one, I mean I f*cking melted into a puddle on my floor. I have such a soft spot for Cali's books and Nash & Riley have officially become my favourite CM couple.

AUDIO REVIEW

I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I liked the idea of the Daddy kink but where the "daddy" is actually a few years younger, but just looks older.

I really liked the dynamic between Quinn and Adam. Quinn is a doctor starting his life over after a terrible breakup. Since his life involves taking care of others, he's looking for someone to fill the role of his caretaker: hence the daddy kink.

Adam is a bartender and a natural caretaker. However, he had a difficult time finding the perfect companion because when people figure out his age, they don't see a "daddy".

But when Quinn has a few many drinks at the bar where Adam works and reveals his fantasies, Adam proposes the perfect situation: a casual relationship where they can both explore their
fantasies.
